SELECTED WORK
THREE DATES
ILLUSTRATION / MOTION
An animated calendar: one month, one date, one overlooked story.
For each month I pick a single date and dig up what happened on it — the stranger, the better. Then the story becomes the month.
April
7 April 1926
Violet Gibson shoots Mussolini. The bullet grazes his nose.
May
7 May 1958
A pacemaker born from the wrong resistor keeps a dog’s heart beating.
December
3 December 1926
Agatha Christie disappears for eleven days.

02 / Drawn by hand
December, the drawing. Coloured pencil and marker on paper.
Every month starts on paper. The drawing is scanned and layered with archival photographs and newspaper clippings, then a calendar of 3D number discs turns until it finds the date.
Each animation has its own soundtrack, made for the story. Three months are finished so far: April, May and December.
December, from line to colour. Drawing time-lapse.

May, the drawing.
03 / In a lightbox
The calendar pages as lightbox objects. Mock-ups.
Behind each date is a small investigation: newspapers, police records, photographs, memoirs. The full stories — what is documented, and what is only told — are in the visual essay.
Technique: Hand-drawn illustration, archival collage, 3D, motion design, sound design
Series: Animated calendar, three months so far
